Workshop and training
As part of Al Hilal Saudi Club's ongoing efforts to develop its young talents and prepare them for professional levels, a series of specialized workshops were conducted targeting youth players. The program focused on the psychological and mental aspects that make a crucial difference in player performance under the pressure of high-stakes competition.
Key Program Themes
The workshops were designed to cover three fundamental pillars for building a well-rounded player:
1. Mental Toughness:
Enhancing the ability to respond positively to pressure and challenging situations during matches.
Developing "rapid recovery" skills after setbacks or on-field errors.
Building a mindset of challenge and determination to achieve sustained victories.
2. Focus Determinants:
Training players in techniques for maintaining complete mental focus throughout the match.
How to isolate external distractions (fans, provocations, media pressure).
Improving the ability to quickly read the field and make correct decisions in fractions of a second.
3. Team Spirit:
Establishing the concept of "collective interest" above individual goals.
Improving effective communication channels between players on and off the field.
Building a supportive environment that enhances cohesion and mutual trust, which is reflected in smooth team performance.
Methodology: The program relied on a combination of:
Interactive lectures: to simplify sports psychology concepts.
Physical and field exercises: to apply the concepts of focus and teamwork in a realistic manner.
Case analysis: Studying real-life situations from previous matches to enhance analytical skills and mental resilience.
Expected Results: A tangible improvement in players' mental discipline during critical moments in matches.
Increased physical and mental coordination among team members.
Developing a base of young players who possess a "champion's mentality" that aligns with the identity and history of Al Hilal Club.
In conclusion: This program represents an investment in the club's "soft power," as technical talent alone is not enough to create stars; it must be supported by mental toughness, high concentration, and an unbreakable team spirit.
